As Valentine’s Day approaches many of us think about candies, flowers and chocolate hearts, but I wanted to share something close to my heart. I did not know much about Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) until I was contacted by Karen to celebrate her son’s first birthday or I should say, re-birth anniversary and life celebration! And what better theme than a Heart Valentines Day decor!
Gunner is such a little warrior! So little and so strong since day 1. He went under heart surgery when he was only 48hours old and since then has had numerous surgeries. These surgeries are not a cure, they do not ‘fix him’. He will require more surgery and will have a lifetime of procedures and follow-up with a cardiology.
40,000 infants are born in the US each year with Congenital Heart Disease. This mean that every 15 minutes a new CHD story begins altering the course of a families life in unpredictable ways. CHD affects approximately 1.8 million families in the US. There is no cure or prevention for CHD, it is a lifelong disease. Help me spread awareness and raise support for the individuals and families affected by sharing this post. Let me know why you spread awareness in the comments! Much love❤
